You’ve decided it’s time to carry out some renovations, but where do you start? Firstly, make a plan. Here are a few tips on how to manage your renovation.
Set a timeline
Think about how much time you have to complete your project and work with your contractor to set clear deadlines. Remember hiccups will happen so make sure to have a little flexibility.
Stay within your budget
Firstly, always have a budget! You may want to renovate your whole home, but is this realistic?
What is most important? If you can’t afford to renovate your kitchen, lounge and bathroom, then decide which one is top of your list. It’s ok to have a wish list, but always be realistic.
Look in to grants and rebates Look in to what is available in your city/province. You may be able to get some help with your renovation costs.
Be on top of quality
This is your home, and you are spending a lot of money on making it perfect so be on top of quality. Never leave something if you are not 100 per cent happy with it. Always voice your opinion.
