I need my spare bedroom to dual as an office and guest bedroom. How can I do this?
There are a few options for this conundrum. Here they are in order of least to most expensive...
1) You can purchase a cot and simply pull it out when needed and fold it for storage when you do not need it. Although this is not very esthetic it serves its purpose well and takes up no extra room when you don't need it.
2) You can have a sofa in the office that pulls out into a sofabed. If you have enough room you can purchase a really nice sofa bed that can sit at the opposite end of the office as the desk. You can even set it up as a little living room area complete with side tables, lamps and a nice rug. When needed it can pull out into a bed. You would need to make sure that there is enough room for the sofa to pull out completely before purchasing it however.
3) You can purchase a Murphy bed system that will hide behind shelving when not in use. This is the most expensive but the most space saving option. Murphy beds come in many different styles and are actually becoming quite popular again as people are realizing the need for space without having to compromise style. For the ultimate space saving option this is definitely the number one option I would choose.
